We are recruiting for a highly regarded international school in Indonesia set on an impressive 44-acre campus in the vibrant city of Jakarta. The school is a warm inclusive community representing more than 50 nationalities and providing education for students aged 2 to 18.

Located in South West Jakarta the campus offers exceptional facilities that support creativity innovation and wellbeing including purpose-built learning spaces specialist art studios and extensive sports and outdoor areas. The educational journey begins with the UK Early Years Foundation Stage continues through the English National Curriculum and inquiry-based learning in Primary and progresses into the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) Diploma Programme (DP) and Career-related Programme (CP) in Secondary. A strong emphasis is placed on connected learning across phases ensuring coherence and continuity throughout the 218 pathway.

The Role

The school is seeking a qualified and passionate Primary Art & Design Teacher to join its Primary faculty from January 2026. This role is ideal for an educator who is deeply committed to creative learning and who can deliver inspiring visual arts experiences across the Primary Years while confidently extending learning into Year 7 (MYP) as part of the schools integrated creative pathway.

The successful candidate will embrace an inquiry-led process-focused approach to art and design education fostering curiosity experimentation and reflective practice. They will play a key role in nurturing students creative confidence and helping them to develop technical skills conceptual understanding and personal expression in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities

The Primary Art & Design Teacher will design and deliver engaging units of work aligned with the schools curriculum ensuring continuity and progression across the Primary Years. Lessons will emphasise creative process exploration and reflection encouraging students to experiment with a wide range of materials techniques and media.

The role includes supporting the transition of creative learning into Year 7 as part of the Middle Years Programme contributing to the schools connected 218 approach to arts education. The teacher will assess and monitor student progress using formative and summative strategies providing constructive feedback that supports both skill development and creative voice.

Collaboration is central to the role. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues across Primary and Secondary contributing to curriculum planning moderation and professional dialogue. They will also contribute positively to the wider life of the school supporting enrichment opportunities exhibitions and creative initiatives that enhance the student experience.

Candidate Profile

Applicants must be qualified teachers holding a recognised teaching qualification such as a . or PGCE alongside a relevant degree. Experience teaching Primary Visual Art and Design is essential with confidence to extend teaching into Year 7 as part of a connected creative pathway.

Experience teaching Design & Technology in the Primary Years would be an advantage. The school is seeking an educator who is skilled in working with a range of art design and digital media and who is committed to developing students creative confidence critical thinking and individuality.
