HOW YOULL MAKE AN IMPACT
Your Role:
- Fully trained (lethally armed) security officer position.
- Ensures colleagues patients and visitors safety; patrols and surveils all hospital campus areas and responds to emergencies quickly and appropriately.
- Displays an understanding of diversity.
- Demonstrates integrity compassion accountability respect and excellence (I CARE values).
- Enhances and contributes to a safe environment for all colleagues visitors and patients.
- Patrols and surveils hospital campus; provides unarmed security.
- Responds to emergencies and drills (e.g. infant/child abductions (code pinks) fires (code reds) disasters (code greens) and violent/security events (code greys).
- Investigates thefts burglaries automobile collisions and other violations.
- Delivers medication and emergency shipments.
- Assists staff members with patients.
- Completes required training.
- Performs miscellaneous duties not expressly described herein.
Reports To:Supervisor/Security (JC: 081001).
Supervises:None.
WHAT YOULL NEED TO APPLY
Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent (e.g. certificate of high school equivalency.
Required Experience: Six (6) years of relevant job-related work experience.
Required Certification/License/Registry:
- Successful completion of the Field Training Officer (FTO) Program (provided by the Supervisor/Security).
- Class G Statewide Firearm License issued by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
- Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) credential from the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS).
- Blue Card certification from the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI).
- American Red Cross (ARC) first aid certification.
- TASER certification from a certified instructor.
- Handcuff certification from a certified instructor.
