About the Role:
The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for leading the design and development of advanced mechanical systems components and complete product solutions for industrial and commercial applications. This role supports cutting edge technology development from concept through commercialization with a strong emphasis on product design prototyping and design for manufacturing. The position offers the opportunity to work in a technically demanding environment focused on innovation engineering excellence and scalable product development.
Responsibilities:

Lead mechanical design projects from concept requirements definition and analysis through prototyping and production release.

Develop complete product designs and individual mechanical components for prototype pre commercial and commercial systems.

Generate technical requirements design specifications and engineering analyses to support new product development and process improvements.

Conduct design reviews prepare recommendations and present technical findings to leadership for approval.

Apply design for manufacturing and design for assembly principles to ensure scalable cost effective production.
-
Perform detailed CAD modeling tolerance analysis and engineering documentation.
-
Conduct finite element analysis and other engineering simulations to validate performance and reliability.
-
Support hands on prototyping testing and iterative design refinement.
-
Collaborate cross functionally with engineering manufacturing and product development teams.
-
Provide technical leadership and mentorship on assigned projects from inception to completion.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
-
Ten or more years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
-
Strong experience designing products for manufacture in industrial or commercial environments.

Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
-
Hands on experience with finite element analysis ANSYS preferred.

Proven ability to lead technically complex projects and deliver high quality engineering solutions.

Strong analytical problem solving and documentation skills.

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Desired Qualifications:

Experience designing complex machinery processing equipment or advanced industrial systems.

Background in prototyping and pre commercial product development.

Experience supporting manufacturing transition and production scaling.
