Senior Accountant On-Call (Public Sector Long Beach CA)

Position Overview

Alivia Group Staffing is building an on-call bench of qualified Senior Accountants to support anticipated public-sector accounting projects in the Long Beach area. Assignments are project-based and may be used to support staffing gaps workload surges audits and specialized accounting initiatives.

This position is part of an on-call talent pool being established for anticipated public-sector accounting projects in the Long Beach area. Placement is contingent upon contract award and client task order requests.

Key Responsibilities

Perform complex professional accounting work related to government and public-sector operations
Prepare analyze and reconcile financial records and reports
Support internal and external audits including documentation and audit response
Apply and interpret GASB standards and public-sector accounting requirements
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
Review transactions for accuracy compliance and internal control standards
Collaborate with finance audit and administrative teams to meet project deadlines

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of professional accounting experience
Government or public-sector accounting experience strongly preferred
Working knowledge of GASB standards
Strong analytical reconciliation and documentation skills
Proficiency with financial systems and Microsoft Excel
Ability to work on-site in Long Beach CA
Must be eligible to pass Live Scan background screening

Assignment Details

Pay Rate: $45 $65 per hour (W-2)
Schedule: Monday Friday standard business hours (7:00 AM 5:00 PM)
Work Location: On-site in Long Beach CA (limited hybrid may be available with client approval)
Employment Type: Temporary / On-Call / Project-Based
