The Inspections Sales Representative is responsible for driving the growth of recurring revenue for Performance Fire Protection (PFP) through the sale of inspection testing and maintenance services. This position focuses on business development relationship management and strategic outreach to new and existing customers. The role requires a highly motivated knowledgeable individual capable of opening doors to decision-makers identifying customer needs and developing long-term service partnerships that support PFPs operational strengths and growth goals.
The position is strictly sales-focused and does not perform field inspections.
Job Duties:
Sales & Business Development Proactively solicit new inspection testing and maintenance agreements to grow recurring revenue streams. Develop and execute a consistent outreach strategy targeting property owners facility managers general contractors and other key stakeholders. Build a robust pipeline of qualified leads through networking cold outreach industry events referrals and relationship development. Maintain a high level of daily outbound activity including calls site visits and follow-ups. Identify and pursue cross-selling opportunities across fire sprinkler fire alarm fire extinguisher suppression and related life safety systems. Conduct frequent in-person prospecting visits (door-to-door) to commercial and industrial properties. Secure meetings between operational managers and customer decision-makers to facilitate technical discussions and close opportunities. Track manage and report on all open proposals opportunities and follow-ups.
Customer & Relationship Management
Establish and maintain strong professional relationships with customers across all business lines. Serve as a primary point of contact for new inspection and service clients and coordinate the handoff to operations. Work collaboratively with all PFP departments to ensure continuity customer satisfaction and operational excellence. Promote PFPs full suite of services to expand customer lifetime value. Internal Collaboration Coordinate with the Inspections Department Manager to ensure accurate job scoping and smooth onboarding of new inspection customers. Actively support the Contracts and Service Departments by identifying cross-selling opportunities. Participate in scheduled management sales and planning meetings. Provide timely communication documentation and reporting to leadership.
Performance & Administrative Duties Meet or exceed annual revenue and gross profit targets established by the President of PFP. Maintain up-to-date sales records customer information and documentation per company standards. Maintain a professional appearance and represent PFP positively in all customer interactions. Other duties as assigned.

Expected Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Working knowledge of fire and life safety systems inspection requirements and industry terminology (sprinklers fire pumps backflows alarms fire extinguishers etc.). Strong sales and relationship-building aptitude with the ability to open doors and reach decisionmakers. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with property owners contractors engineers fire officials homeowner associations (HOAs) and internal teams. Highly self-motivated and able to thrive in a role with autonomy and performance-based expectations. Strong organizational and time-management skills including the ability to prioritize leads follow-ups and address customer requests real time. Ability to read and understand technical information related to fire and life safety systems (training provided). Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and CRM or sales tracking tools.
Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required; four-year college degree or technical education preferred. 25 years of experience in fire and life safety industry life safety inspections or related technical fields preferred but not required. Prior sales experience with demonstrated sales success and aptitude required. Proven track record of growing a customer base and succeeding against performance targets NICET certification is a plus but not required. Valid drivers license required.
Measures of Performance
The Inspections Sales Representative is considered to be performing acceptably when: Annual new inspection revenue targets and gross profit margins are met or exceeded. A consistent and high-quality pipeline of qualified prospects is maintained. Customer satisfaction and feedback remain positive. Relationships with key decisionmakers are strengthened and leveraged for growth. Effective internal communication and collaboration support operational success. Administrative responsibilities documentation and CRM usage are timely and accurate.
Rewards and Other Job Duties
Compensation includes a base salary plus a performance-based incentive tied to new recurring revenue repair sales and cross-selling Incentives are structured to reward outbound prospecting long-term service agreements and profitable deficiency repair conversion. Frequent travel within assigned territory. The use of a company car or personal car mileage to be reimbursed. Competitive health benefits will be provided in accordance with the PFPs benefits plan. Regular on-site visits to commercial and industrial properties including walking job sites and accessing mechanical rooms. May require the use of PPE and exposure to outdoor conditions when working around new buildings.
