A long-standing family-owned Iowa equipment provider is seeking experienced Service Technicians to join the team at its Waterloo location. This organization has been operating since 1968 and has grown to multiple locations across the state. The equipment line ranges from small generators and concrete saws to skid loaders forklifts concrete pumps and crane trucks.
This position will focus primarily on small-engine equipment such as generators concrete saws power buggies water pumps plate compactors light towers mixers and similar machinery.
Key Responsibilities
Perform assigned maintenance and repair tasks with minimal supervision and within established timeframes.
Follow all safety procedures and promote a safe work environment for fellow employees.
Troubleshoot mechanical electrical and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools test equipment service manuals and bulletins.
Reference service manuals parts catalogs and technical resources to complete repairs accurately.
Continuously improve technical knowledge and skills related to construction equipment maintenance.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date personal and company documentation (e.g. CDL physical card logs timesheets).
Plan and execute work efficiently and with attention to detail.
Assist in checking or reviewing the work of junior or lower-level mechanics when needed.
Supply and maintain the personal hand tools necessary to perform job duties.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in construction equipment or small-engine mechanical repair.
Demonstrated proficiency in diagnosing and repairing construction-related equipment.
Ability to review and verify the work of others.
Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
Willingness to work extended hours; shop hours are 7am5pm MondayFriday and 8amnoon on Saturdays.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
