Job Summary
Our client a leading provider of long-term care (skilled nursing) and short-term rehabilitation services is seeking an entry-level Corporate Staff Attorney with 12 years of experience in a corporate environment. Experience in healthcare law is preferred but not required. This onsite position is based in the Louisville office and reports directly to the Chief Legal Officer.
The ideal candidate will have a strong corporate law background; this role is not suited for individuals whose experience is primarily in personal injury criminal prosecution or defense work. Preference will be given to candidates currently located in the Louisville area.
Work Experience:
1 years practicing healthcare law preferred.
Experience in long term care or in-house experience is a plus.
General Corporate Work
Risk management.
Drafting corporate announcements.
Filing corporate documents with state agencies.
Corporate housework (preparing minutes maintaining records presentations to the governing body etc.); and Litigation management.
Coordinate responses to subpoenas and legal notices.
Coordinate with teammates to conduct investigations and defend against claims.
Review and summarize salient points of legal pleadings.
Facilitate or verify discovery and discovery requests.
Initiate and monitor efforts to preserve evidence (i.e. litigation holds).
Negotiate settlements; and Attend ADR as needed.
Regulatory Work and provide advice on and legal matters across multiple jurisdictions.
