Job Description:

This is an exciting and interactive position on an individual life and health insurance pricing this role you will work closely with your teammates sales distribution teams underwriting operations and reinsurance areas to provide insurance illustrations that are competitive and innovative solutions for our high-net-worth clients.

This role is ideal for an individual who has the unique combination of:

  • Knowledge of insurance products including how they are developed and priced.
  • Effective communication skills both verbally and in written form; and
  • The ability to think outside the box.

What will you do

To support our clients you will:

  • Model/price large and custom insurance cases
  • Build sales illustrations
  • Provide unique solutions

In conjunction with your team members and other teams you will develop:

  • Models to test viability of complex custom solutions in order to provide recommendations
  • Pricing assumptions for existing products related to custom solutions
  • Provide unique solutions

Your excellent communication skills which allow you to effectively consult with:

  • Key stakeholders working with AIS (i.e. product development reinsurance inside sales underwriting new business)
  • Advisors/intermediaries to understand requests and provide solutions on complex cases
  • Reinsurers to negotiate custom rates and enhanced reinsurance support

What do you need to succeed

  • Knowledge of GGY AXIS
  • Knowledge of insurance industry and its products
  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel (including macros) Word
  • Career ASA designation

  • Undergraduate degree in mathematics or statistics
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to act as a consultant to internal and external customers
  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines under tight timelines

  • Self-motivated and adaptable

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other addition to Base Pay eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
