About the Role

CapIntel is looking for aSenior Backend Developerto join our growingData Team where youll design and deliver the infrastructure that keeps our platform fast reliable and ready for whats next. From robust ETL pipelines to scalable backend systems and API integrations youll partner with cross-functional teams and lead the creation of solutions that power smarter financial systems.

What Youll Do

• Design build and maintainrobust and scalable data pipelines usingJavaScript/TypeScript andNoSQL databasessuch as MongoDB.
• Architect data pipelines and storage solutionsfor structured and unstructured financial data ensuring performance reliability and scalability.
• Lead the development ofsecure enterprise-grade API integrations partnering with third-party data providers and internal teams.
• Deploy monitor and optimize services onAWS applying best practices for observability cost efficiency and fault tolerance.
• Drivetechnical excellenceby writing clean maintainable code supported by thorough unit and integration testing.
• Participate in and elevatecode reviews architecture discussions and technical planning setting a high bar for engineering quality.
• Mentor intermediate developers and contribute to the evolution of our backend development standards and processes.
• Partner closely with product data and design teams totranslate business requirements into scalable backend solutions.

What Were Looking For

• Extensive experience developing data pipelines in any robust backend language with strong system design fundamentals and the ability to learn or work with TypeScript.
• Extensive experience creating and maintaining ETL pipelines processing many gigabytes of data
• Expertise withMongoDB(or similar NoSQL databases) data modelingand query optimization.
• Strong background with cloud storage and monitoring services
• Comfort withCI/CD workflows and infrastructure as code.
• A track record of writing well-tested reliable code and drivingbest practices.
• Solidcollaboration and communicationskills to bridge technical and non-technical teams.

Nice-to-Have Experience

• Experience withPythonfor backend scripting or data processing.
• Familiarity withAWS
• Knowledge ofsearch indexing technologiessuch asElasticsearch.
• Exposure todata warehousing analytics pipelines or financial data normalization.
• Familiarity with or similar orchestration platforms

The Interview Process

1. 30-Minute Video Call with a Talent Acquisition Partner:A conversation to get to know you better discuss your experience and motivations.
2. 30-Minute Video call with an Engineering Leader to explore your technical knowledge and cultural fit for the role.
3. Take home ETL task 60-Minute Live Review Session:A take home task to process a file using PythonJavaScript/TypeScript orC# followed by a live review session with a Team Lead or Engineering Leader. Well be assessing your problem coding skills problem-solving abilities and your use of AI.
