Job Summary

Saint Ignatius College Riverview is a Catholic Jesuit boarding school for boys from Year 5. Situated on the beautiful Lane Cove River in Sydney NSW this leading independent school deliversa holistic education for over 1600 day and boarding students.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a qualified and experienced College Counsellor to support the students on our senior campus. This is a great opportunity to make a difference enhancing the overall wellbeing of students in Years 7-12. The successful applicant will work collaboratively with other members of the Pastoral Care team to provide specialised assistance in regard to individual counselling liaison and case management referrals to external professionals/agencies as well as providing advice training and resources for teachers and parents.

This is a full-time position commencing February 2026. The successful candidate will be required to work 38 hours per week during term time only.

ABOUT YOU

The successful candidate will:

Be familiar with psychological and education assessment tools such as the WISC V and other measures of cognitive ability.
Have experience in an educational context.
Have experience counselling adolescent males using evidence-based interventions.
Demonstrate an understanding of and a commitment to the mission and values of the College.
Demonstrate collaborative practices and a commitment to working as part of a team.
Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and professional learning.
Demonstrate outstanding communication especially with adolescent boys.
Demonstrate sensitivity and empathy.
Maintain high professional and ethical standards.
Demonstrate the ability to engender trust.
Be self-motivated.
Hold formal qualifications in psychology and current registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA).
Hold a current Working with Children Check and be committed to safeguarding and promoting the safety welfare and well-being of children and young people.
