- Programming and debugging Allen Bradley ControlLogix PLCs (ladder logic structured text function block)
- HMI/SCADA programming in a manufacturing or plant environment
- Electrical system design and documentation using AutoCAD Electrical
- Strong understanding of machine control systems VFDs servo systems and motion control
- Ability to troubleshoot process electrical and automation issues
- Knowledge of industrial safety standards (NEC NFPA Lock-Out/Tag-Out)
- Experience working with system integrators and plant support teams
- Ability to manage controls scope of capital process improvement and obsolescence projects
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Extrusion and cable winding manufacturing experience
- Experience with legacy control systems and industrial networks
- OSI PI historian interface experience
- iFix 5.9 or higher
- Beckhoff PLC experience
- Entrepreneurial and systems-level design mindset
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Design modify and implement Allen Bradley PLC programs for fiber optic cable manufacturing
- Lead and manage controls engineering scope for automation capital expansion and improvement projects
- Design and implement robust cost-effective control systems and machine automation solutions
- Interface with external system integrators to deliver fully integrated equipment systems
- Support projects through all phases including design fabrication testing installation and startup
- Mentor and train junior controls engineers and support plant personnel
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Computer Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology (or equivalent experience)
- 4 years of manufacturing experience with PLCs HMIs and VFD-controlled equipment
- Ability to work onsite M F (8 AM 5 PM) with overtime as needed
- Ability to independently execute projects with minimal supervision
- Commitment to safety standards and PPE requirements
