Credentialing / Onboarding Time: 6 to 8 weeks

Site: Northern Navajo Medical Center (NNMC)
Location: U.S. Highway 491 North Shiprock NM 87420
Duration: 6-month contract with multiple 6-month extension options.
Shift Schedule:
- Shifts determined by Nursing Supervisor
- May include: 8-hour shifts 10-hour shifts
- Weekends and holidays as required
License:
- Current valid unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
Certifications:
- Mandatory:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- ACLS
- PALS

Preferred:
Experience Needed:
- Minimum 36 months (3 years) total nursing experience
- At least 2 years in the required specialty (Ambulatory Care or assigned unit)
Special Skills Needed:
- Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills
- Knowledge of:
- HIPAA and patient confidentiality
- Medication administration
- IV therapy and venipuncture
- Pain management
- Emergency protocols (EMTALA)
- Ability to work in rural and culturally diverse environments
- Cultural awareness and respect for American Indian and Alaska Native populations
- Basic computer and electronic health record (EHR) skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide outpatient and/or inpatient nursing care in accordance with IHS standards
- Assess plan implement and evaluate patient care
- Administer medications and treatments safely
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation
- Follow IHS policies federal regulations and nursing standards
- Coordinate with Nursing Supervisor and healthcare team
- Comply with infection control patient safety and quality standards
- Protect patient privacy and sensitive medical information
