Tekberry is seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Mechanic II to work onsite with our client a world-class academic institution supporting campus facilities and infrastructure. This role focuses on HVAC mechanical maintenance including belts filters motors and related building systems with exposure to additional trades as needed.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance duties of moderate complexity under general supervision.
Execute routine mechanical maintenance primarily related to HVAC systems.
Replace fan and drive belts air filters and lubricate motors and fans.
Clean and maintain motors; troubleshoot faulty equipment and tag for repair.
Perform basic plumbing repairs (faucets toilets sinks water heaters).
Perform basic electrical repairs (switches outlets sockets hand tools).
Conduct minor carpentry repairs including doors locks wall patching and shelving.
Assist with swimming pool maintenance including filter cleaning and chemical balance.
Work independently or as part of a maintenance crew.
Follow established procedures while making independent decisions within scope.
Adhere strictly to safety rules and campus policies.
May perform duties associated with Maintenance Mechanic I as assigned.

Must-Have Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
3 5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in at least one trade area (HVAC/mechanical preferred).
Demonstrated experience replacing HVAC belts filters and performing motor maintenance.
EPA Certification (required).
Valid California Class C Drivers License (required).
Strong work ethic dependability and ability to work independently.
Ability to follow procedures and complete tasks with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in large facilities campuses or institutional environments.
Multi-trade exposure (mechanical plumbing electrical carpentry).
Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs.

Physical Requirements

Ability to perform heavy manual labor in varying weather conditions.
Constant standing and walking.
Frequent lifting up to 20 lbs; occasional lifting up to 40 lbs.
Ability to climb ladders/scaffolding kneel bend stoop and work in confined spaces.
Visual acuity including color vision.
Ability to wear PPE and uniforms as required.

Working Conditions

Onsite position; may require overtime evenings weekends and holidays.
Exposure to noise chemicals allergens biohazards heat/cold extremes and confined spaces.
Work may occur at heights exceeding 10 feet.
