Job Summary
CK Group are recruiting for a Technical Manager to join a Fine Chemicals manufacturing company at their site based in Newmarket on a full time permanent basis.
Location:
The Technical Managerwill be based at the companys site in Newmarket easily commutable from Cambridge Bury St Edmunds Ely Saffron Walden and Royston.

Technical Manager Role:
Your main duties will be:
- Leading Safety and ensuring departmental HSE compliance
- Leading daily Operational Planning for Production and Development teams
- Supporting and training departmental employees
- Quality and Data analysis for full compliance
- Driving site-wide efficiencies and continual improvement
- Technical Troubleshooting
- Senior Representation under the Site Director
The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:
- Chemistry or Chemical Engineering degree alternatively at least5 years experience within Fine Chemical/Pharmaceutical Manufacturing (ideally MSc/PhD)
- Proven Operations Leadership experience within Chemical/Pharmaceutical sectors
- demonstrable track record of troubleshooting/problem-solving in Laboratories or Production
- Prior experience in people-facing leadership roles (Team Leader/Senior Management)
- Understanding of Six Sigma or similar methodologies
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 (QHSE) Management Systems
- Analytical proficiency - GC HPLC FTIR KF and other QC testing methodologies - ideal
- Project Management experience - ideal
