Your contribution in the role
As the senior finance business controller you play a critical role in supporting the global supply chain for the Electron Microscopy business part of the Material & Structural Analysis division within Thermo Fisher Scientific. You will be the primary finance business partner for the global procurement lead the global supply chain lead and their respective management teams. You will be leading and inspiring a team of strong enthusiastic finance professionals to support the business in financial planning and reporting as well as decision making on investments and future proofing the organization financially. As a financial professional within Thermo Fisher Scientific you will have an important seat at the table with a chance to bring forward and share your ideas on everything finance and improvements for the business.

Our expectations of you in this role

• Be the strategic business partner to the vice president supply chain and senior director procurement for the division and their respective global procurement teams aligning financial goals and operational objectives
• Lead and inspire a team of 2 finance professionals with focus on talent and personal development
• Lead in all global aspects of supply chain finance: budgeting & forecasting inventory management material cost management contract management and investment decisions
• Initiate monthly business reviews with your business partners and stakeholders and pro-actively bring forward view and opinions on optimization opportunities.
• Drive strong focus on standard cost analysis to support improving and optimizing profitability for the business
• Lead analysis of material productivity results and reconciliation of productivity results to financial impact
• Manage the preparation of Monthly/Quarterly Business Review packages.
• Proactively identify develop and implement improvements to existing reporting processes
• Identify improvement opportunities to automate enhance and build analysis

• Self-motivated flexibility and strong work ethic with the goal of getting the job done
• Financial savvy including deep familiarity with concepts of forecasting budgeting and variance analysis as well as in root cause data interpretation
• Organized multitasker: workload prioritization enable the team to meet timelines while achieving results especially in a fast-paced environment
• Effective spoken and written communication skills are required to collaborate with various partners
• Continuous Improvement approach: Identify process and control gaps and champion improvement initiatives through process improvements

The education/experience we would like to see

• Bachelors degree and/or MBA in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum of 8-10 years of dynamic finance experience with management roles including finance leadership and experience in a global manufacturing organization
