This role includes night early morning and weekend coverage as needed

The Transportation Coordinator / Dispatcher serves as a key point of contact between supply chain operations external customers and internal sales teams. This role is responsible for managing transportation-related communication resolving issues and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products. The position acts as a floating/fill-in resource across multiple shifts and schedules requiring flexibility and strong problem-solving skills.
Serve as the primary contact between supply chain operations and assigned external customers
Analyze high volumes of incoming emails and take prompt action to resolve issues
Maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners
Utilize multiple dispatch and transportation management systems to manage and resolve delivery issues
Work with external scheduling platforms to coordinate pickups deliveries and appointments
Maintain knowledge of internal policies procedures and software systems
Understand customer organizational structures processes and requirements
Identify cost-effective transportation solutions while meeting service expectations
Implement creative problem-solving approaches to resolve delivery disruptions
Ensure accurate and timely product delivery while maintaining positive customer relationships
Experience working with transportation and scheduling systems is preferred including but not limited to:
Dispatch/TMS systems (e.g. TES LME FourKites OTR or similar)
External scheduling platforms (e.g. Retailix Retail Link UNFI One Network or similar)
Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience in transportation logistics or supply chain operations
13 years of business experience preferably in transportation or logistics
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Ability to manage a high volume of email communication (up to 300 emails per day)
Strong written verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Effective conflict management and negotiation abilities
Strong multitasking problem-solving and organizational skills
Positive attitude and customer-focused mindset
