The NC Department of Administration is the business manager for North Carolina state government. The department oversees Government Operations such as building construction purchasing and contracting for goods and services maintaining facilities managing state vehicles acquiring and disposing of real property and operating auxiliary services such as courier mail delivery and the sale of state and federal surplus property. Additionally the department manages many of the states advocacy programs that provide assistance and services to diverse segments of the states population that have been traditionally underserved.

Job Duties:Assist Division of Marine Fisheries (DMF) biologists and technicians in the collection and processing of biological data for ongoing fisheries research projects in the field at fishing tournaments and in the Age Laboratory.
Major Task to be Performed: Work with DMF staff to remove otoliths scales and fin clips from finfish and learn about aging procedures. Assist with ongoing Division independent and dependent sampling programs. Collect data and biological samples at fishing tournaments and assist with public outreach at tournaments and other events.

Knowledge or seeking knowledge of fisheries research and management. Experience in field and laboratory settings; collecting and processing data; interacting with members of the public; using Microsoft Office products.
