The NC Department of Administration is the business manager for North Carolina state government. The department oversees Government Operations such as building construction purchasing and contracting for goods and services maintaining facilities managing state vehicles acquiring and disposing of real property and operating auxiliary services such as courier mail delivery and the sale of state and federal surplus property. Additionally the department manages many of the states advocacy programs that provide assistance and services to diverse segments of the states population that have been traditionally underserved.

Job Duties: Create stories about non-traditional library services and programs from across North Carolina and sharetheir positive impact on community members.
Major Task to be Performed:
Research non-traditional library services and programs available in libraries across North Carolinaincluding whether they are available in other states too. Interview libraries and community membersabout non-traditional library programs and services. May include Script writing interview processcreation photography photo editing digital/video production and online layout and publishing. Theintern will also write posts about the non-traditional programs and services and the impact oncommunities serviced.
Final Product or Outcome Anticipated: Eight to ten published library stories about non-traditional library services or programs from across North Carolina through digital media across multiple channels.
Academic Majors Desired: Communications Journalism Public Relations Graphic Design Digital Marketing.
2026 State of North Carolina Internship Period: Monday May 18 Friday July 24 2026
Writing good communication skills interviewing image editing layout social media marketing.
This position will close at 11:59 p.m. the night before the end date.
