Job Summary

Summary

The Family Time Contact Supervisor plays a crucial role in the social services sector by ensuring safe and supportive environments for family interactions. This position is vital in facilitating and supervising visits between children and their families often in situations where children are in foster care or under protective services. The role is essential for maintaining family bonds and supporting the emotional and psychological well-being of children and their families during challenging times.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and facilitate scheduled family visits ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
  • Monitor interactions between children and family members providing guidance and intervention when necessary.
  • Document and report on visitations noting any concerns or significant observations.
  • Communicate effectively with social workers foster parents and other stakeholders to coordinate visit schedules and address any issues.
  • Provide feedback and support to families to promote positive interactions and relationship building.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies procedures and legal requirements during visitations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions and documentation.


Requirements


  • Proven experience as a contact supervisor or in a similar role within social services.
  • Strong understanding of family dynamics and child welfare practices.
  • Excellent observational and communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in potentially stressful situations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of individuals and agencies.
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and ethical practice.
