This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. Note: Permanent and time-limited NC State Government employees must separate from their permanent or time- limited position in order to work in a temporary position. All temporaries are limited to one NC State Government temporary assignment at a time.
Individuals hired into a temporary State job must be fully qualified for the job. This temporary position is located in Rocky Mount NC - Nash County.
Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $34.35 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).
This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Health and Human Services. This position is located at 141 Storage Rd Rocky Mount NC 27804.
This position as clinical social worker is needed for children birth to three and is located in the catchment area of the Rocky Mount Childrens Developmental Services Agency (CDSA). This position will provide eligibility evaluations for children referred to the NC Infant-Toddler Program.
Effective July 1 2025 candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed from the class specification. The Knowledge Skills and Abilities listed within this vacancy announcement will be used only as management preferences and will be used to screen for the most qualified pool of applicants. Management prefers applicants with the following:
Considerable knowledge of a wide range of behavior and psychosocial problems and their diagnosis and treatment.
Considerable knowledge of family and group dynamics and a range of intervention techniques as well as principles of casework and training.
Considerable knowledge of treatment planning
Considerable knowledge of governmental and private organizations resources in the community laws regulations and policies which govern the program.
Thorough knowledge of social work principles techniques and practices and their application to complex casework group work and community problems
Minimum Education and Experience
Some state job postings say you can qualify by an equivalent combination of education and experience. Masters degree from an appropriately accredited school of social work. Licensure is required from NC SW Certification and Licensure Board. Necessary Special Qualification Requirements - One must fulfill all requirements for Licensure in North Carolina as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker as required by the North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensure Board.
