Job Summary
The Vehicle/Equipment Mechanic isensures vehicles and equipmentare in safe operating condition by determining needed repairs and/or replacements on district vehicles; performing required repairs and preventive maintenance and providing written documentation of repairs to meet district state and federal requirements.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Job-related experience within specialized field required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid California Class A or B drivers license.

12 months / M-F 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM* / 40 hours per week

The competitive basis for this recruitment is established as open/promotional-dual certification: candidates who meet the minimum qualifications and pass the exams are placed on an eligibility list. The list is used to fill current and future vacancies for six months.
Veterans may be eligible for preference points on examinations. Please attach a copy of your DD214 to your application.
Employment with San Dieguito Union High School District is contingent upon successful completion of post-offer background check fingerprinting physical exam including tuberculosis drug and alcohol screening and an Oath of Allegiance.
The probationary period for a new or promotional employee is six months or 130 days of paid service whichever is longer.
