Job Overview
The Assistant Supervisoris responsible forsupporting the daily operations of the Shipping department. This role ensures that materials are received stored and shipped accurately and efficiently whilemaintaininga strong focus on safety quality and team performance. The Assistant Supervisor coordinates team activitiesassistswith training and serves as a key resource for troubleshooting issues and balancing workloads. This position plays a critical role inmaintainingworkflow supporting continuous improvement and fostering a positive and productive team environment.
Highlights of your role
- Understand and support all receiving and shipping processes including documentation labeling and material flow.
- Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and shipping/receiving requirements.
- Operate and troubleshoot material handling equipment.
- Ensure team members are trained and certifiedonequipment use.
- Monitor accuracy of inbound and outbound shipments.
- Ensure proper documentation and labeling of materials.
- Support resolution of quality issues related to shipping or receiving.
- Promote and enforce safety protocols and PPE compliance.
- Participate in safety audits and lead by example in safe practices.
- Communicate shift expectations updates and performance feedback to team members.
- Serve as a liaison between team members and leadership.
- Support team rotation and workloadbalancingacross both departments.
- Foster a collaborative and respectful work environment.
- Identifyand escalate operational issues orimprovementopportunities.
- Take proactive steps tomaintainworkflow and minimize downtime.
- Assistin onboarding and training new team members.
- Reinforce standard operating procedures and best practices.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors aligned with Marvins values.
- Troubleshoot day-to-day issues related to receiving shipping staffing or equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve challenges.
- Promote a culture of safety and integrity by consistently following all safety protocols reporting hazards and engaging in training and initiatives.
Youre a good fit if you have (or if you can)
- 12 years of professional experience preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Prior experience in leadership or teamleadroleis preferred.
- Training in safety and quality systems (e.g. OSHA basics Lean principles).
- Knowledge of leadership development or coaching practices.
- Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize daily responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
