POSITION SUMMARY:

The Transwestern Development Summer Intern will participate in a comprehensive 8-week internship program designed to provide immersive exposure to a variety of real estate development activities. This internship provides handson exposure to financial analysis market research due diligence design and construction processes and project management. The intern will work closely with team members and gain practical experience in multiple stages of the development lifecycle.

This full-time in person internship is designed for students working towards a bachelors degree with emphasis in finance economics or related field.

POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Assist with financial analysis and modeling for new development and investment opportunities.
• Support market research by gathering data on rents sales operating costs and competitive supply.
• Participate in due diligence activities including reviewing zoning site conditions and project feasibility.
• Help prepare business plans and presentations including financial forecasts and project summaries.
• Track project timelines budgets and construction progress under the guidance of senior team members.
• Compile and organize project information for internal reporting and leadership updates.
• Collaborate with team members across development design construction and leasing functions.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education:

• Rising Senior working towards a bachelors degree with emphasis in finance economics or related field preferred.

Experience:

• Internship experience in Commercial Real Estate a plus but not necessary.

Technical Skills:

• Excel and Word with a strong emphasis on Excel modeling capabilities and an understanding of discounted cash flows.

Personal Skills:

• Demonstrates a positive professional attitude and operates with integrity respect and alignment with company values in a collaborative team-oriented environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders.

• Highly organized and capable of managing multiple projects shifting priorities and tight deadlines with efficiency and attention to detail.
• Proactive and solutions-oriented with strong business instincts and the ability to anticipate needs and respond to inquiries with accuracy and insight.
• Self-motivated and adaptable with the ability to prioritize tasks.
