What you will be doing
As the Director of Engineering youll lead the hotels physical operations ensuring the highest standards in maintenance safety and asset protection. Your focus will include overseeing preventative and long-term maintenance programs executing CapEx strategies and leading storm preparedness initiatives to safeguard the addition to managing a dedicated maintenance team youll ensure compliance with all safety regulations and train staff to meet current safety protocols. Your strategic approach will support the hotels goal of maintaining an exceptional guest environment both inside and outside the building.
Requirements
- Proven experience in full-service resort maintenance including storm preparedness CapEx planning and execution.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly stand and move around frequently and work in areas with high temperatures and heavy equipment.
- Ability to perform hands-on tasks such as bending stooping and kneeling as needed.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent vocational training.
- Five years of experience in general building maintenance construction and team leadership or equivalent education and experience in a related field. Hotel experience is highly preferred.
- Relevant building trade licenses or certificates from the state of employment.
- Two years of apprenticeship in stationary engineering or equivalent experience.
- Bilingual skills especially in Spanish are a plus.
- Computer literacy is required for scheduling and managing maintenance tasks.
