Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and revise 2D engineering drawings and 3D models using CAD software (NX Unigraphics preferred; AutoCAD SolidWorks Inventor Creo also considered).
- Convert 2D sketches or hand drawings into accurate 3D models.
- Ensure all models and drawings meet current production standards and maintain attention to detail.
- Apply basic knowledge of drafting principles GD&T and dimensional tolerancing.
- Interpret and work from mechanical drawings and specifications.
- Perform modeling simulations using Finite Element Methods (Q-Form preferred; De-Form Transvalor also considered).
- Conduct engineering analyses to support design using CAD/FEA tools.
- Prepare and summarize results into technical reports and presentations.
- Generate quotes for potential new product introductions (including design criteria and tooling costs).
- Review drawings for completeness and accuracy; maintain revision control and technical documentation.
- Organize and manage CAD files and project-related information.
- Ensure projects are completed within budget and schedule.
- Utilize measuring instruments such as scales and calipers for verification.
- Demonstrate familiarity with metal behavior and material properties.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in CAD software (NX Unigraphics strongly preferred).
- Strong technical ability in creating detailed 2D drawings and 3D models.
- Experience with FEA simulation tools (Q-Form preferred).
- Knowledge of GD&T and drafting standards.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Experience
- Minimum 2 years of Die Design Experience
- Minimum 2 years working with CAD
- BS in Engineering
