Position Description:
P4FIP (Precinct 4 Forward Internship Program) is an 9-week paid summer internship for students with a passion for serving others.You will be surrounded by team members who bring heart hustle and higher standards to work each day. These leaders advance opportunity and justice as they deliver services to and advocate for the residents of Harris County. The team you will be joining is innovative dynamic and forward-looking.Weve designed our program to expose students to career opportunities with Harris County and apply what they have learned in the classroom to hands-on projects. P4FIP provides students the chance to bridge the gap between academic understanding and practical professional experience. Students from all schools and students who identify with a group that is historically underrepresented including but not limited to Black Hispanic Native American students with disabilities and veterans are encouraged to apply.Interns will create a community to help support their personal and professional development throughout the summer as they launch their career. Interns will work with a mentor form relationships with other interns and engage our Senior Leadership Team.
Position Summary:
The Public Art Intern will support Precinct 4 Team by assisting in the development and execution of art projects. This internship provides hands-on experience in supporting artists coordinating events and contributing to public art initiatives. The ideal candidate is passionate about the arts organized and eager to gain practical experience in art project management and community engagement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Management Support: Help manage project timelines logistics and communications with artists and stakeholders.
Research & Data: Gather data and research on artists materials project milestones and funding opportunities to support project implementation and reporting.
Project Document Creation: Assist in preparing project documentation reports and promotional materials to share with internal and external stakeholders.
Event Planning: Support event planning including exhibitions installations and community engagement activities.
Community and Stakeholder Engagement: Attend community workshops site visits and meetings related to art initiatives.

Education and Additional Requirements:
Students working toward an undergraduate degree at an accredited college or university.
Minimum GPA of 3.0.
Proficiency in Microsoft software applications including Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint and Share Point.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook).
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
Excellent time management multitasking and data entry skills.
Good planning and organizational skills.
Well-developed verbal listening and written communications skills.
Ability to meet multiple deadlines and balance numerous projects in a fast-paced environment.
Strong sense of urgency with impeccable organizational skills to meet deadlines and requirements for multiple projects.
