Description of Work

The Habilitation Instructor is responsible for planning managing and delivering structured classes in horticulture sewing and carpentry for developmentally disabled offenders. This role supports rehabilitation and skill-building through vocational training and the application of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) principles to enhance social behavioral and independent living skills. The instructor collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to monitor and document individual progress ensures a safe and organized learning environment manages program resources and budgets and contributes to administrative and professional development activities.
This position reports to the Psychological Services Coordinator and plays a key role in promoting constructive use of time and preparing individuals for more independent and productive lives.

Salary Pay Range: $34270 - $59973

Key Responsibilities:
- Designs and delivers vocational training in horticulture sewing and carpentry for developmentally disabled offenders using task analysis and adaptive methods.
- Applies cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) principles and behavior management techniques to support social emotional and independent living skill development.
- Evaluates client progress documents goals and outcomes and communicates observations effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
- Maintains program equipment manages budgets ensures a clean and safe learning environment and performs related administrative duties.
- Builds rapport with clients staff and community partners while promoting workplace readiness and addressing barriers to employment.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) withState Benefits.
