The Mental health therapist (adjunctive)
Organizes implements and supervises groups and activities utilizing a variety of therapy skills suited for psychiatric patients.
Works as a member of the treatment team towards the implementation and completion of the patients treatment plan.
Documents interactions with patients in the medical record including completion of the Therapeutic Recreation Assessment progress notes and treatment plans.
Works cooperatively with other members of the Clinical Programs Department and treatment team provides coverage and arranges coverage when needed.
Participates in departmental and system wide in-service educational opportunities and completes the required yearly system education requirement. Independently participates in continuing education to maintain the appropriate professional credential.
Education: Bachelors degree required.
Experience: none
Licensure certification and/or registration: Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist eligible Registered Art Therapist eligible Or Board-Certified Music Therapist
Other Minimum Qualifications: Effective interpersonal communication and teamwork skills required. Demonstrates knowledge of therapeutic interventions suited for inpatient and outpatient psychiatric knowledge of the principles of life span growth and development and assesses data reflective of the patients status.
