As an Intervention Specialist at New Story Schools you will create structured engaging and individualized learning experiences that help students build essential academic social and behavioral skills. You will guide a small classroom environment deliver instruction aligned with each students IEP and collaborate closely with families and multidisciplinary teams to support meaningful growth. This role will not include shared classrooms which allows you to truly know your students and run a predictable structured classroom.
What Youll Need
Bachelors degree in special education or a related field
Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist License or Alternative Resident Educator License
Experience developing and implementing IEPs
Strong collaboration and communication skills with families and school teams
Dedication to inclusive student-centered instruction and behavioral support
Comfortable with challenging behaviors and openness to learning support strategies
What Youll Do
Lead a small manageable and self-contained 6-student classroom and provide individualized hands-on daily instruction
Work alongside RBTs serving as paraprofessionals who understand ABA and data collection
Collaborate with Board Certified Behavior Analysts plus have access to a designated Occupational Therapist and a Speech Language Pathologist integrated into programming
Plan and teach lessons aligned with each students IEP goals
Assess academic behavioral and social growth and adjust instruction using data
Partner with families support staff and service providers to coordinate student support
Maintain clear documentation to support compliance and progress monitoring
