DESCRIPTION:
Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. seeks a Senior UX Designer to develop outstanding digital experiences for our Genetic Sciences business. This position collaborates closely with product managers business analysts and engineers to create software designs that align with business goals and user needs. By visualizing and testing workflows and designing intuitive UIs the UX Designer ensures our software is easy to use and adopt.
A Day in the Life:
- Lead the end-to-end UX development processfrom discovery and research to prototyping testing and final product delivery.
- Work together with product managers engineers and collaborators to identify user requirements and build objectives.
- Conduct user research usability testing and data analysis to inform development decisions.
- Develop wireframes user flows prototypes and high-fidelity mockups that communicate development intent clearly.
- Advocate for user-centered principles and accessibility guidelines.
- Contribute to the development of UX build standards and systems.
- Stay current with emerging build trends tools and technologies.
Keys to Success:
Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree in Building Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) or a related field preferred (equivalent combinations of education and relevant work experience may be considered).
- 5 years of experience in UX development preferably in a senior or lead capacity.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of UX and UI development work.
- Proficiency in building and prototyping tools (e.g. Figma).
- Excellent communication collaboration and presentation skills.
- Experience working in agile development environments is a plus.
- Experience in life sciences or genetic sciences domain preferred.
- Familiarity with UX metrics and data-driven development.
- Experience crafting for mobile and responsive web applications.
- Knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML CSS JavaScript) is beneficial.
- Strong understanding of accessibility (WCAG) and inclusive building.
