The Wynn Creative Services Content Team is looking for a Director of Production to work alongside the award-winning creative group of DPs editors motion graphics animators photographers and documentarians to manage productions from intake to delivery. This is not a creative role in terms of directing concepting and ideating. Your creativity will be applied to solving the problems that are part of the management of resources and tasks needed to deliver high quality work on time and on brief.
As a member of the Creative Services Content Team you will report directly to the Executive Creative Director.
The Director of Production will need to be a self-sufficient leader capable of executing larger priorities while not allowing smaller projects to slip through the cracks. Theres no ego on this team when it comes to task completion.
The fulfillment of this role should afford the team the following:
- More streamlined processes and focused post workflow.
- The Creative Services Content Team the ability to expand when needed by having the management support for a broader team of specialist freelancers in addition to the in-house staff team.
- The Creative Services Content Team to achieve clearer communication on milestones progress and tracking of expectations and objectives for the work being done.
- The alleviation of producing work from the Executive Creative Director and senior creative team members which can include setting up meetings managing schedules managing 3rd party vendors and contractors (invoicing onboarding following up on deliverables etc.) reporting to other stakeholders in Asana and other channels on progress as well as any pertinent information.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Director of Production will work both independently and closely with the Executive Creative Director of Creative Services and the broader creative team to manage the workflow of videography and photography from the point of request through to delivery of final assets. As a communication expert and detail-oriented professional the Director of Production will manage the budgets timelines schedules workflow process reporting and general communication of project information to the Executive Creative Director and creative teams. As a production leader you should be familiar with the industry trends and best practices to bring those approaches to the table as a leader within the team.
Specifically the role includes:
- Being a leader and people manager within a production context
- Being a senior production resource that brings extensive experience to all projects
- Being able to work independently as needed or with minimal supervision whilst communicating clearly adhering to project parameters and prioritization
- Being the main point of contact between the ECD of Creative services producers directors DPs photographer etc. to ensure everyone is on the same page
- Translating the ECD and senior creative leads vision into action plans
- Being proficient in production estimating and budgeting
- Managing production budgets: creation tracking and actualizing
- Contractor and vendor workflow: hiring negotiating communicating invoicing etc.
- Manage invoices and ensure they are processed and up to date in trackers
- Scheduling with essential staff and resources to complete work and communicate on timelines to stakeholders accordingly
- Document and communicate the goals objectives and purpose of the content and projects to stakeholders and staff
- Maintain timelines for completing each part of the project
- Supporting the film/photo teams on set/location
- Work with and manage production managers coordinators and PAs to ensure the right support is delivered on production - i.e. craft services equipment moves etc.
- Establishing logistic support for deliveries and non-Wynn crew arrivals
- Supervise the creation of or create and share call sheets
- Help liaise with departments within the Wynn organization to secure necessary access to locations and any additional needs that include but are not limited to; transport (i.e. golf carts) conference room booking internet services etc.
- Managing multiple projects at the same time in different stages of production
- Being an innovator and leader always looking for ways to improve efficiency costs and quality of work from a producers perspective
- Understand lensing camera bodies lighting and overall content creation gear utilized for capture
To do these things the Production Director needs to:
- Have a collaborative spirit
- Prioritize listening first
- Be detail oriented
- Be a problem solver
- Love helping people bring their ideas to life: supporting the ECD and creative team with logistics and admin tasks as they ideate and execute on ideas
- Know that communication is key: simple clear and honest
- Be passionate about time and project management skills
- Stay organized while juggling multiple projects and the patience to help creative talent be organized as well
- Understand prioritization and be able determine priorities without oversight
- Hold a positive attitude its production; stuff gets crazy but we always figure it out
- Be able to work a varied schedule that will sometimes include nights and weekends
- Have an artistic and creative mindset when it comes to increasing productivity through workflow systems
- Be able to accept the need to fix problems that arent all your fault
Qualifications :
- Must have 10 years of video and photo production
- Understand or have managed postproduction processes
- Work in spreadsheet software (excel or google sheets) to manage and create budgets and timelines. Including creation of formulas and basic accounting principles and call sheets
- Utilize email (outlook and teams experience ideal)
- Ideally know how Asana or other project management software works
- Understand the roles of professionals in the eco system of video and photo production and postproduction where they fit in and their responsibilities
- Advertising agency experience is a PLUS.
