Description
The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing daily accounts payable operations for a fast-paced multi-unit organization. This role ensures accurate and timely vendor payments strong internal controls compliance with regulations and effective team leadership. The AP Manager partners closely with vendors and internal stakeholders to maintain efficient scalable and compliant AP processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily AP operations including invoice processing vendor relationships expense reporting and weekly payment runs
- Manage AP entries related to the general ledger and support accurate month-end close
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations internal policies and audit requirements
- Resolve complex vendor and payment issues and support escalations
- Lead train and evaluate AP staff to drive efficiency and accuracy
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance scalability
- Support audits mergers & acquisitions and special projects as needed
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business Administration or a related field
- 5 years of high-volume accounts payable experience
- 35 years of AP leadership or management experience (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP AP regulations and the procurement-to-payment cycle
- Experience with ERP systems and AP software (NetSuite a plus)
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical organizational and communication abilities
