Description of Work

The Physician serves as the lead clinical authority responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality on-site healthcare services to incarcerated individuals. Duties will include one or more designated institutions in the South Central Region. This role requires advanced diagnostic expertise sound medical judgment and up-to-date knowledge of clinical practices and technologies. The physician oversees healthcare operations within the region ensuring compliance with standards and providing guidance to medical staff to support safe and effective patient care.

Salary Pay Range: $142420 - $284840

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivers comprehensive primary care services including acute and chronic medical treatment preventive care and health education for incarcerated individuals.
  • Evaluates and treats a wide range of internal medicine conditions performs minor office-based surgical procedures and refers complex cases to specialists.
  • Conducts sick call emergency response chronic disease clinics physical exams and follow-up care while documenting all patient interactions in the HERO system.
  • Collaborates closely with nursing staff to ensure coordinated effective healthcare delivery across all areas of the facility.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) withState Benefits.
