DESCRIPTION:
As a Senior Procurement/Sourcing Manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific youll develop complex global category strategies and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver meaningful business value. Youll collaborate with stakeholders across divisions to develop and execute multi-year sourcing strategies that optimize spend reduce risk and support our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier cleaner and safer. This role combines strategic direction with hands-on category management to continuously improve procurement operations and supplier relationships.

Working in a matrix environment youll analyze market intelligence conduct supplier negotiations and implement innovative solutions to achieve cost savings and operational excellence. Youll act as a trusted advisor to business partners while managing key performance indicators including savings supplier rationalization and risk management. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact by enhancing procurement practices and developing strategic supplier partnerships across a global organization.

REQUIREMENTS:
Advanced Degree plus 6 years of experience or Bachelors Degree plus 8 years of procurement/sourcing experience in mid to large multinational companies
Preferred Fields of Study: Business Supply Chain Engineering or related technical field
Professional certification (CPSM or equivalent) preferred
Strong category management experience with demonstrated success in cost savings
Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and influencing without direct authority
Advanced negotiation and contract management skills
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute multi-year category strategies
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Excellence in stakeholder management and executive-level communication
Experience with e-sourcing tools and procurement systems
Knowledge of supplier performance management and continuous improvement methodologies
Experience in regulated industries (life sciences medical device or pharmaceutical preferred)
Project management expertise and ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives
Demonstrated success achieving consistent results in a continuous improvement environment
Proficiency in MS Office suite especially Excel PowerPoint and project management tools
Strong business acumen and ability to align procurement strategies with business objectives
Ability to travel as needed up to 50%
Experience in professional development of team members preferred
Collaborative working style with excellent interpersonal skills
Experience with sustainability diversity and risk management initiatives preferred
