The Strategic Account Manager - Data Centers plays a critical role in building and strengthening relationships with some of our most influential customers including electrical utilities oil and gas companies mining operations and major contractors. This senior-level position requires a unique blend of technical expertise and business acumen with deep knowledge of the Caterpillar Electric Power and Energy & Transportation product suite and a strong understanding of market dynamics.
As a trusted advisor the Strategic Account Manager - Data Center will lead the development and execution of account strategies to drive growth achieve objectives and deliver exceptional value. Representing our full range of solutionsincluding Power Systems Rentals new and used equipment and comprehensive aftermarket supportyou will guide the customer planning cycle and ensure that every interaction meets or exceeds expectations.

Major Job Functions:
Strategic Account Management / Market Leadership
Initiate and maintain high level relationships with strategic accounts at the senior/executive level. Enhance Finnings standing and competitiveness within the Power industry by maintaining a presence and becoming involved in the community including first nations engagement.
Provide strategic leadership for selling execution across various industry verticals while working with leaders from other functional departments (Supply Chain Service Operations Sales Pricing & Marketing) to ensure strategic objectives have alignment across the business and are executed on effectively.
Build and maintain relationships with Caterpillar and Vendors at all levels.
Prepare and manage Rental Equipment Programs and Master Supply Agreements that including other Finning Rental business units (TCRS Heavy Rents). Engaging and supporting the Contract and legal teams when required.
Prepare support and submit tenders and RFQs as required ensuring best in class solutions and most competitive solutions are utilized. Engaging and supporting the Contract and legal teams when required.
Forward-looking lens is applied to the business leveraging data insights and front-line customer feedback to develop proactive solutions for our diverse customer base.
Support Engineering and Project teams in the technical scope to design and offer suitable effective solutions that are superior to the competition meeting the customers competitive needs. Both Mechanical and Electrical Engineering support.
Business Development
Prospect new business through leveraging existing network of contacts and cultivating new relationships.
Entrepreneurial mindset to drive profitable and sustainable revenue growth through the development and implementation of a customer-centric strategy that places customer experience innovation and engineering at its heart.
Collecting filtering and providing an initial assessment of development opportunities for Finning Power Systems including but not limited to new market opportunities for generator rentals sales aftermarket and engineering services.
Accountability:
Responsible for recognizing and developing business development opportunities and prepare business cases that will deliver growth and value for Finning Power Systems.
Represent Power Systems Rentals and Sales in planned and ad-hoc customer meetings presentations seminars shows areas of expertise to support strategic initiatives.
Key account and National Account management.
Establishing and cultivating an external network for potential business development opportunities of value for Finning including customers competitors partners and suppliers.
Responsible for preparation and execution of Master Supply Agreements Request for Quotes and large contracts.
Together with Sales and Industry Managers develop target setting objectives for sales force.
Work closely with the Rental sales force to drive new customers and new opportunities.
Maintain close and open working relationship with Operations and Project management and to support customer satisfaction.
Development and implement effective reporting to keep project stakeholders and senior management informed on key project metrics.
Participate in industry association customer events and trade shows.
Responsible for Adhere to and provide guidance for all Finning Policy and Procedures.
Represent the company in a professional and ethical manner maintaining confidentiality and effective relationships with customers internal departments CAT and staff.
Education Experience Skills & Knowledge
Education: University degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) or equivalent job experience.
Experience: Minimum 10 years of senior sales experience with a proven track record of managing growth in large account sectors and leading high-energy sales or operational teams.
Strategic thinker with strong entrepreneurial mindset and expertise in strategic planning implementation and marketing principles.
Comprehensive knowledge of the Energy industry Caterpillar Power Systems products and ability to understand technical aspects of product applications.
Advanced leadership and coaching capabilities complemented by excellent presentation facilitation and motivational skills.
Exceptional communication persuasion and networking skills with ability to cultivate relationships across all management levels.
Strong grasp of financial management contract and risk management and understanding of administrative legal and regulatory requirements.
Ability to respond effectively to external market dynamics customer expectations and disruptive technologies while evaluating market trends and opportunities.
Proficient in MS Office applications and internal systems with strong organizational time management prioritization and problem-solving skills.
Deep understanding of CRM tools performance management and Finning business acumen including policies procedures and industry challenges.
