Description
Position Overview
As a member of the Operations Team you will be responsible for installing troubleshooting and maintaining fiber optic cables and related equipment. This includes splicing termination and testing to ensure optimal network performance. You will also collaborate with the engineering team to implement network designs and configurations conduct site surveys and assess requirements for new installations. A key part of this role is diagnosing and repairing fiber infrastructure issues while adhering to safety protocols and industry standards. Accurate documentation of work activities configurations and equipment specifications is essential.
Responsibilities
- Install splice terminate and test fiber optic cables and equipment.
- Perform site surveys to determine installation requirements.
- Diagnose and repair fiber optic network issues.
- Collaborate with engineering on network design implementation.
- Maintain compliance with safety standards and industry regulations.
- Document all work including equipment specifications and configurations.
Skills and Experience
- Strong knowledge of telecommunications practices and principles.
- Experience with fiber optic installation splicing and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency with OTDR fusion splicing and optical power meters.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations for fiber installations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Proficiency with computers software programs and office systems.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications preferred.
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
