A well-established tourism and transport services company based in Cape Town near CBD is looking for an experienced Senior Sales & Operations Consultant to join their team.
This role is suited to a highly organised tourism professional who thrives in a fast-paced client-facing environment and is comfortable balancing consulting operational coordination and after-hours standby responsibilities. This is not a junior role - you need to be confident accurate and able to manage complex multi-day bookings from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:- Capture manage and execute client bookings accurately from initial request through to service delivery
- Manage and maintain strong relationships with assigned clients and travel agencies
- Handle complex and multi-day bookings with attention to detail and service excellence
- Prepare and issue accurate quotes within 15 minutes of receiving requests
- Action telephonic and email booking requests promptly and professionally
- Apply correct client-specific rates to all quotes and bookings
- Assist clients with realistic scheduling and travel time planning
- Ensure pre-payment is received prior to service delivery (where applicable)
- Prepare detailed and accurate driver instruction documents (waybills) at least 5 days prior to service
- Ensure waybills include all service instructions payment responsibilities vouchers and tickets
- Communicate booking changes clearly to the Operations Team and ensure updates are actioned
- Liaise daily with Drivers and Guides to ensure seamless service delivery
- Maintain accurate records of all client communication
- Support the Operations Team with all matters related to your bookings
- Deliver consistent high-quality service to clients and guests
Operational & Standby Duties:- Participate in an after-hours standby roster
- Remain contactable by cell phone at all times while on standby
- Attend to driver queries breakdowns complaints and operational issues after hours
- Perform weekend and public holiday duties on a rotational basis including:
- Dispatching Drivers and Guides from the depot from 06:00
- Ensuring vehicles and staff depart on time
- Updating and reprinting waybills for last-minute changes
- Actioning new bookings received over weekends
- Attending to operational issues on-site where necessary
Minimum Requirements:- Matric Certificate
- 5 10 years consulting experience within the Tourism industry
- Excellent written and verbal command of the English language
- Strong computer literacy
- Professional telephonic and written communication skills
- Valid Code B drivers licence
- Own reliable transport to and from the depot
Advantageous:- Tertiary qualification in Tourism and/or Operations
- Sales and client service experience
- Guiding experience
