Position Summary
The Clinical Staffing Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the School of Health and Wellness (SHW) by coordinating clinical staffing and Work Integrated Learning (WIL) operations to ensure high-quality learner and faculty experiences. As the primary point of contact for SHW clinical staffing the Coordinator works collaboratively with the Student Services WIL team Associate Dean Program Chairs Scheduling Officers faculty and external partners to support program delivery WIL requests and scheduling.
This role is responsible for coordinating the review and placement of WIL sites planning and implementing clinical staff recruitment strategies supporting casual faculty interviews and assisting with recruitment onboarding orientation and offboarding processes. The Coordinator also develops and maintains a comprehensive faculty database shares employment insights and recommendations and supports ongoing faculty development by ensuring awareness of required training policies and best practices in WIL settings.
The Clinical Staffing Coordinator maintains effective and frequent communication with faculty staff preceptors and internal and external stakeholders using a variety of platforms including Outlook Microsoft Teams and telephone. The role includes coordinating regular liaison activities with preceptors; conducting WIL lab space and practice-setting evaluations; providing feedback to support faculty development and equipment planning; and representing the SHW Department in matters related to WIL at internal and external meetings orientations and events.
The Coordinator establishes and sustains strong relationships with health authorities government agencies and healthcare sites throughout Calgary and surrounding areas manages assigned experiential learning initiatives and works closely with the WIL team to identify and support current and future placement collaboration with faculty and College stakeholders the Coordinator also helps organize partner orientations networking events and outreach activities that promote Bow Valley Colleges WIL programs and services.
Responsibilities encompass all faculty professional duties related to instructional delivery including teaching preparation; program and course development; evaluation; student support such as remediation and consultation; participation in special projects and College committees; and other related duties as assigned.
What Youll Bring:
The successful candidate will possess a post-secondary diploma in Administration Business Human Resources or a related field or equivalent education and experience in a healthcare or health education setting; preference will be given to candidates with Licensed Practical Nurse credentials. A minimum of five years of related experience is required with an equivalent combination of education and experience considered. The position requires the ability to travel a Police Information Check including the vulnerable sector and occasional weekend work.
Preferred qualifications include strong healthcare sector experience the ability to work independently and within self-managed teams excellent organizational and problem-solving skills attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple competing priorities. The ideal candidate demonstrates professionalism diplomacy strong communication and presentation skills a commitment to continuous quality improvement advanced administrative abilities proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and a sound working knowledge of the Bow Valley College Faculty Agreement.

Due to the operational requirements in this position you are required to work 100% on-campus Monday through Friday normal work hours 8:00-4:15 with no option for hybrid work arrangement. There may be some travel (if required) to sites and you may have to attend occasional weekend events representing the department.
