Master Thesis (6 months) "Development of a Digital Launch Vehicle Camera", Avionics Hardware

Mission Brief

We are looking for an exceptionally motivated Master Student to develop the first iteration of Isars Digital Launch Vehicle Camera. From Requirement Definition to Unit Conceptualization to PCB & Enclosure Design to Functional & Environmental Testing you will cover the complete development cycle of the Digital Camera in your Thesis. Interdisciplinary tasks and fast paced R&D are your daily business and you thrive in that kind of environment.

Your Role in Our Space Mission:

• Define a subset of requirements for your Digital Camera
• Conceptualize your Digital Camera Unit Hardware Design (Enclosure Camera Hardware Selection PCBA(s) internal connections Electro-thermal Design)
• Design the Schematic and Layout in Altium Designer
• Functional Testing of your PCBA(s)
• Build-up of the first integrated Prototypes
• Conduct Environmental testing of your first Prototypes
• Work in close cooperation with our Software Department throughout the different stages of your thesis

Qualification Checklist

• Currently in your masters degree in electrical engineering Aerospace Engineering or comparable
• Previous Experience with PCB Design & Testing (3 PCBAs designed and tested)
• Experience with Embedded Hardware Design
• Experience with DC/DC Converters
• Experience with MCAD Software and the design of simple mechanical parts
• Hands on mentality and can-do attitude
• Fluent in spoken and written English

Bonus Skills

• Experience in Altium Designer
• Previous Unit Design experience
• Experience in testing integrated electrical systems e.g. through student teams
