Job Summary
Want to help scale Amazons global fulfillment workforce supporting them with efficient engaging and empowering user experiences while keeping them safe and happy Join the Amazon Fulfillment Technologies Experience Design team (AFT-XD). We are seeking a Senior UX Researcher who is passionate about the intersection of the physical and virtual worlds reaching beyond what is shown on a screen to include the physical environment building layout equipment work processes anything and everything that impacts how work inside our fulfillment centers gets done.
Key job responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be a problem-solver self-learner and self-starter who looks around corners to identify user problems and needs proactively initiates the research process delivers high quality research plans and actionable insights and influences stakeholders to positively impact experiences within Amazons global fulfillment network. As the user research lead within AFT-XD youll define and build AFTs global research discipline while mentoring researchers designers and team members in methodologies and best practices. Youll foster cross-team collaboration across countries to elevate research standards and improve fulfillment center operations. Working with cross-functional teams of designers product managers and engineers youll identify research topics build research roadmaps and execute both formative and evaluative studies using diverse methods. Your role includes communicating insights and recommendations while advocating for users to ultimately enhance the experience of fulfillment center associates and operators to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.

About the team
Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) powers Amazons global fulfillment network. We invent and deliver software hardware and data science solutions that orchestrate processes robots machines and people. We harmonize the physical and virtual world so Amazon customers can get what they want when they want it.
- 5 years of proven success leading User Research projects with demonstrated impact experience
- 5 years of hands-on work with: field research ethnography lab-based user testing remote testing paper prototype testing iterative prototype testing concept testing and survey design experience
- Bachelors degree in HCDE Human Factors Cognitive Psychology or a related field
- Experience in leading User Research projects with demonstrated impact
- Experience with field research ethnography lab-based user testing remote testing paper prototype testing iterative prototype testing concept testing and survey design
- Experience with all aspects of research (study design recruiting moderation analysis reporting)
- Experience with behavioral data collection quantitative data analysis and statistics
- Have a portfolio demonstrating past work experience and deliverables (e.g. study plans reports personas)
- Masters degree in Human Factors HCDE Cognitive Psychology or equivalent
- Experience in a technical field (software development network development IT other related)
- Experience with UX Research in non-US markets
- Experience working in a highly Agile/Scrum environment

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $137000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $226500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
