Main Purpose of Job
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health Education Community Health Education or Health Science.
Experience: None.
Notes:
may substitutea Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 18 credit hours in Public Health Education Community Health Education Health Science or related behavioral science and one year of experience in planning developing implementing and promoting health education projectsfor the requirededucation.
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military serviceexperience as a commissioned officer in Health Educator andCommunity Health classifications or Health Educator andCommunity Health specialty codes in the Public Health field ofwork on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience finding planning and taking part in community events in a health-related field.
- Experience engaging with community members gathering feedback and using those skills to improve outreach activities materials and services.
- Experience communicating clearly and confidently in front of groups and giving presentations to people of different ages cultures and education levels.
- Experience or willingness to learn new technology and create outreach materials such as flyers presentations and newsletter content to support community outreach and health education.
