As a Special Education Paraprofessional at New Story Schools youll support students with developmental and learning differences in building confidence independence and essential life skills. Youll assist teachers in the classroom help students stay engaged in their learning and provide guidance that fosters both academic and social growth.

What Youll Need

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Passion for supporting students with learning emotional or behavioral differences

• Ability to remain calm patient and encouraging in all situations

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Basic computer proficiency with tools like Word Excel or Google Docs

What Youll Do

• Support students with academics social interactions and daily living skills

• Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and classroom activities

• Observe document and report student progress and behavior

• Reinforce individualized education and behavior support plans

• Use positive behavior strategies and de-escalation techniques to maintain a safe supportive classroom
