What Youll Do
Under general direction of Emergency Management Preparedness Manager the employee will primarily perform technical basis tasks for the Emergency Management Program Organization but may also be tasked with actions pertaining to any emergency management element including drills exercises and emergency response organization this role this employee is responsible for conducting Emergency Planning Hazards Surveys and Assessments (utilizing specific DOE guidance) for potential emergency events and conditions.
Evaluates changes to facilities operations and hazardous material inventories for impacts on potential emergency events and conditions. Applies qualitative and quantitative analytical methods. Conducts consequence assessments utilizing a variety of modeling software. Develops/revises documentation supporting emergency planning surveys and analyses drills/exercises and related end products e.g. identification of Emergency Planning Zone emergency equipment/facilities etc.
The employees primary duty is the performance of office or non-manual work directly related to the management or general business operations of the Company and such primary duty includes the exercise of discretion and independent judgment denoted as follows: examples include having the authority to formulate affect interpret or implement management policies or operating practices; carrying out major assignments related to the operation of the Companys business; work that affects business operations of the Company to a major degree and having the authority to commit the Company in matters having significant financial impact.
Independent judgment and discretion involves the comparison and evaluation of possible courses of conduct and having the authority to make an independent choice free from immediate direction with respect to matters of significance.

Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelors degree and minimum 4 years of relevant experience
- OR Masters degree and minimum 3 years of relevant experience
- OR PhD
- OR twelve years or more years of education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years-of-experience requirements for this posting
Preferred Job Requirements
- Satisfactory completion of a Masters degree in Chemistry Engineering Physics or a related science (e.g. chemical nuclear etc.) or a related technical field and 4 years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of engineering principles and the ability to learn their application to risk analysis qualitative and quantitative risk assessment facilities and systems operation and manufacturing processes and systems.
- Knowledge of emergency operations/emergency management.
- Ability to prepare read and interpret complex information regarding technical matters; ability to coordinate projects from inception to completion including review criteria specifications calculations and analysis of information; ability to conduct formal presentations to plant personnel and other interested individuals; ability to review programmatic documentation for technical accuracy; ability to perform as the technical lead and/or support the efforts of a team; and the ability to present information clearly and effectively through the oral and written word.
