Role summary
As a usability intern you support the MR usability to ensures that products we develop in Philips are safe effective efficient intuitive and satisfactory to use. You practice raising awareness to usability & user-centered design and advocate for user needs and patient safety in the business and the project team.
You co-develop the usability strategy for the project in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team which includes UI/UX designers product designers clinical specialists product managers researchers developers and system engineers.
You take part into activities such as:
- Conduct user research task analysis and create use scenarios.
- Analyze post-market data and identify usability issues.
- Usability FMEA.
- Support the development of user-centered and safe-to-use UI and UX solutions.
- Support the lead usability engineer with Planning executing and reporting usability evaluations.
- Support the lead usability engineer in creating the usability engineering file in compliance with the FDA NMPA guidance and IEC62366-1
Hiring requirements
Proven experience and knowledge:
Basic Understanding and/or practice of conducting task analysis providing inputs to UI/UX designers risk managers and engineers performing and reporting usability evaluations. Basic knowledge and understanding of regulation requirements for usability of medical devices: NMPA FDA guidance and IEC62366-1. Basic understanding of quality systems (QMS) and risk management principles. Good knowledge and understanding of cognitive ergonomics principles. Basic understanding of the healthcare domain and clinical workflow e.g. in hospitals. Preferred: Good knowledge and understanding of physical ergonomics principles.
Academic background:
Currently studying in masters in human factors engineering HCI cognitive science product/interaction design or other relevant academic background.
Skills:
- Highly independent and pro-active. Curious and eager to learn
- Good communication presentation skills.
- Ability to speak up and effectively advocate for user needs and user experience.
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals and stakeholders from around the globe.
- Ability to write high quality formal documentation. Good English written and verbal.
