About the Role:

The Physical Therapy- PRN position is designed to provide flexible on-demand physical therapy services to patients across various healthcare settings within the United States. The primary goal of this role is to assess plan and implement individualized treatment programs that promote mobility reduce pain and improve overall physical function. This position requires the ability to adapt quickly to different clinical environments and patient needs ensuring high-quality care is delivered consistently. The role supports the rehabilitation process by collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and educating patients and their families on therapeutic exercises and injury prevention. Ultimately this position contributes to enhancing patient outcomes and quality of life through expert physical therapy interventions on a per-need basis.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid and unrestricted Physical Therapist license in the state(s) of practice within the United States.
  • Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program with a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in physical therapy preferably in outpatient inpatient or rehabilitation settings.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a PRN or flexible scheduling role within a healthcare environment.
  • Specialized certifications such as Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) or Neurologic Clinical Specialist (NCS).
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and documentation software.
  • Additional training or experience in manual therapy techniques or specialized therapeutic modalities.
  • Bilingual abilities or experience working with diverse patient populations.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations to determine physical therapy needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Implement therapeutic interventions including exercises manual therapy and modalities to improve patient mobility and function.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly to achieve optimal rehabilitation outcomes.
  • Document all patient interactions treatment plans and progress notes accurately and timely in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with physicians nurses and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity.
  • Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs injury prevention and health maintenance strategies.
  • Maintain professional licensure and stay current with best practices and advancements in physical therapy.

The required skills enable the physical therapist to perform thorough patient assessments and develop effective treatment plans tailored to individual needs. Strong communication skills are essential for educating patients and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive care delivery. Proficiency in clinical techniques and therapeutic modalities allows the therapist to implement interventions that promote recovery and functional improvement. Preferred skills such as experience with EMR systems enhance documentation accuracy and efficiency supporting compliance and quality assurance. Additionally specialized certifications and cultural competency skills contribute to delivering advanced patient-centered care in diverse clinical settings.
