Looking to take the next step in your legal support career Our client a well-established law firm in North East London is seeking a talented Conveyancing Secretary to join their dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced legal secretary to play a pivotal role in a busy conveyancing department with genuine prospects for development and progression.
About the Role
As a Conveyancing Secretary you will provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to fee earners enabling them to deliver outstanding legal services to clients. This is a client-facing position requiring professionalism discretion and strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Audio typing drafting and sending correspondence (letters emails faxes)
Document preparation from audio dictation including lease extensions deeds completion statements and Land Registry forms (via the Land Registry portal)
General administration: photocopying printing scanning organising couriers
File management: opening/closing files monitoring post and emails dealing with basic queries
Reception cover as required
Billing support: preparing bills liaising with accounts requesting cheques/bank transfers processing payments
Telephone handling: managing internal and external queries ensuring messages are relayed promptly
What Were Looking For
Minimum 2 years experience as a Legal Secretary within a UK conveyancing department (essential)
Strong audio typing and document production skills
Familiarity with Land Registry forms and the Land Registry portal
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Confident client-facing manner with a high level of discretion
Strong organisational and time management abilities
Proficient in MS Office (Word Excel Outlook)
