Position Summary

Reporting to the Financial Controller and workingclosely with the senior Financial Leaders the Senior Accountant will provide support to the team with respect to full cycle accounting. This individual willassistwith the month-end close perform financial analysis to understand results andassistwith decision role incorporates a combination of financial reporting financial analysis and special projects to ensure that corporate businessobjectivesand financial results are met.

Responsibilities

  • Prepareaccurateandtimelyfinancial reporting for the Company.
  • Reconcile and analyze monthly balance sheet income statements financial position cash flowforecastsand budgets.
  • Reviewsverifiesand analyzes any deviations and trends against budget prior months and prior years activity.
  • Maintain a system of accounting records and a comprehensive set of internal controls designed to mitigate risk.
  • Responsible formaintainingthe fixed asset ledger as well as responsible forthe capitalization ofintangibles.
  • Provide post-close accounting support on M&A activities including valuations and acquisition accounting memos.
  • Assist the Financial controller with year-end tax returns and preparemonthly tax returns.
  • Assistand guide the Accounting Assistant with more technicalaccounting interpretations.
  • Completes project work asrequiredandparticipatesin all reasonable work activities as may bedeemedsuitable and assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Business/Accountingholdsorispursuing aprofessional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent)
  • 3 years of progressiveaccountingexperience with knowledge of all aspects of corporate accounting andfinancial management
  • Ability to analyze data and present recommendations based on outcomes of analysis
  • Ability to provide leadership mentoring and coaching to subordinate team members
  • Ability to resolve complex issues and problems and present resolutions to higher-level colleagues as needed
  • Ability to prepare and effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to management and employees
  • Intermediate Excel Skills (VLOOKUPs SUMIFS Pivots)
  • Experience with Microsoft NAV seen asan asset
  • Ability to hold a strong right hand tothe Financial Controller and knows when to raise issues and concerns appropriately
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to quickly build credibilityrapportand relationships at multiple levels of the organization
