Summary

Reporting to the Regional Systems Manager Transcription Services and working closely with the Transcription Leadership team the Systems Applications Coordinator Transcription Services is responsible for providing application support for designated computer program(s) such Meditech M*Modal and PCIS within a specific Lower Mainland Health Information Management area. Duties include identifying troubleshooting and documenting all system issues requiring escalation; acting as a liaison between Transcription Services and the vendor application specialist; assisting with system projects and developing testing implementing and maintaining policies procedures and manuals for the assigned systems as required.

Education Training and Experience
Graduation from a recognized degree or diploma program in Computer Science plus three (3) years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.

Skills and Abilities
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to deal with others effectively.
Ability to write programs in a variety of programming languages.
Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
Ability to organize work.
Ability to operate related equipment.

  1. Assumes responsibility for the designated computer programs providing support for assigned applications by methods such as system testing changing/updating setting up and first-line trouble-shooting.
  2. Determines and documents all system issues requiring escalation.
  3. Develops downtime procedures with vendor and end users. Establishes notification process to end users of upcoming downtime.
  4. Monitor and resolve error logs on various PCIS systems.
  5. Liaises between Transcription Services and the vendor application specialist and/or IMITS for issues such as dictionary building interfaces and integration with other clinical information systems as well as designing reports.
  6. Liaises and meets with other information systems coordinators/specialists in the Lower Mainland and other Health Authorities to exchange information and expertise on current and future implementations.
  7. Acts as primary contact to third party vendors that affect or interact with the assigned applications (e.g. Meditech M*Modal).
  8. Oversees projects that affect the assigned applications by methods such as modifying the applications providing project direction and specifications and building dictionaries.
  9. Writes custom reports and edits routine reports as required.
  10. Maintains LM Health Information Management Intranet website and/or SharePoint Sites for assigned areas.
