We have a brilliant opportunity as a Nursery Apprentice to join our amazing Nursery onsite at Next head office in Enderby!
During your Apprenticeship you will gain the skills and knowledge to become a Level 3 Nursery Practitioner. You will be a part of creating a high quality and caring environment for children. This includes creating a warm friendly and stimulating atmosphere in which the children can develop emotionally socially and educationally through individual attention and group activities.
You will:
- Gain knowledge understanding and practical experience of day care for young children and the Development Matters and the Nursery curriculum
- Work under supervision to provide all aspects of care for children.
- Gain an awareness of purposeful planning for children in Early Years setting
- Learn and implement the personal and emotional needs of individual children.
- Provide interaction with children in the nursery.
- Learn and undertake the role of a key person including keeping accurate records
- Learn and adhere to the nurserys policies.
- Work alongside all staff and engage in a good staff team.
- Attend all of the mandatory training
- Contribute to good standards of hygiene and cleanliness in Nursery.
- Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude to learning duties and responsibility of a Nursery Practitioner with support from your Supervisor
- Ensure the provision of a high quality environment to meet the needs of individual children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds and stages of development.
- Learn and adhere to the Nursery standards at all times.
- Be aware of all emergency and fire evacuation procedures.
- Learn and uphold Health and Safety whilst at work
- Complete college assignments on time allocated time during working hours will be given to support this.
About you:
- An interest in childcare
- Qualification in Maths and English is preferred
- Some experience with children under 5 is preferred
- Ability to communicate confidently with parents/carers
- Able to work independently and to manage your own time efficiently
- Proactive and self-motivated
- Committed to giving children and families the opportunity to reach their full potential
- Ability to use initiative
- Calm under pressure
- Excellent organisational and time keeping skills.
- Passionate and enthusiastic about development in early years
- Able to implement high health and safety standards
