Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Project Manager to lead and execute complex industrial and process engineering projects. They must have a robust technical background in industrial electrical systems combined with proven project leadership. They will serve as the bridge between technical design and project execution ensuring all engineering deliverables meet client standards and regulatory codes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage industrial electrical engineering projects through every phase from initial concept to construction and final commissioning.
- Serve as the primary technical and project point of contact for external clients and internal multidisciplinary teams.
- Develop and review critical electrical design deliverables including single-line diagrams control schematics and detailed wiring diagrams.
- Oversee the creation of comprehensive power and conduit plans cable schedules and localized equipment layouts.
- Coordinate and review specialized electrical studies specifically focused on Short Circuit and Arc Flash analysis.
- Design and supervise the implementation of medium and low voltage systems ranging from 480V to 15kV (including 4160V).
- Engineer and specify industrial equipment such as substations Motor Control Centers (MCCs) switchgear transformers and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
- Ensure all engineering designs and project activities strictly comply with applicable codes and standards including NEC IEEE NFPA and IEC.
- Manage the overall project life cycle by monitoring scope maintaining rigorous schedules controlling budgets and allocating necessary resources.
- Provide technical mentorship and leadership to junior engineers and designers to foster professional growth and team efficiency.
- Coordinate effectively with various multidisciplinary teams equipment vendors and contractors to ensure project alignment and delivery.
- Support active construction activities perform field reviews and lead technical troubleshooting during the installation and commissioning phases.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution (Required).
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) License (Required).
- License number and issuing state must be clearly listed on the resume.
- 10 years of industrial electrical engineering experience.
- 3 years in a project management or technical leadership role.
- Proven track record of delivering industrial and process engineering projects successfully.
- Proficiency in 15kV 4160V and 480V Power systems.
- Working Knowledge of Substations MCCs switchgear and transformers.
- Deep working knowledge of NEC IEEE NFPA and IEC.
- Experience with ETAP AutoCAD and NavisWorks / BIM 360 is preferred.
